TUESDAY, September 10th - ArtRich Photography will be at Wamogo for Senior Portraits. Some people choose not to have a full portrait package done by ArtRich < which is perfectly fine. However, EVERY SENIOR needs to have a portrait taken by ArtRich for the spread pages with all of the Seniors together. This single portrait is FREE.
WEDNESDAY, September 11th - We will have a Senior class meeting in the Auditorium during WIT. We will have printed permission slips for the Senior Retreat, handouts for a current fundraiser, and hopefully information about Senior Class Tshirts. Plus other odds and ends. FRIDAY, September 13th - There is a Senior COLLEGE PLANNING BREAKFAST! Information about that will be shared by the School Counseling Department. Be sure to check eblasts. THURSDAY, September 19th - Wamogo's Curriculum Night (6-8:30 pm) We would love to have a couple of Seniors (or parents of) promoting our Boon Supply (formerly Mixed Bag Designs) Fundraiser at this event. FRIDAY, September 20th - Fundraiser order forms due. Online fundraiser closes. Seniors that actively fundraise are working toward reducing the price of their prom ticket. Before you know it, the month will be over leaving only nine months to go! Although the Senior Retreat is ten weeks from today, it is ONLY ten weeks from today! Last year, student council members from Wamogo's class of 2020 met with regularity in order to investigate fundraising opportunities, plan Junior Year events, and to begin planning for their Senior Year! We agreed upon an awesome place for their Senior Retreat, UrbanAir in Orange, CT. We also agreed that it would be the MOST fun for everyone if we had everything there available to us so, The Platinum Package is the plan we picked.
I am reaching out to you, parents & guardians, because we will need some additional chaperones to join us for the day. If it sounds like something that you’d like to volunteer to be a part of, please let me know via email ASAP. I will begin a list of chaperones. I am assuming that ALL Seniors will want to attend therefore, I anticipate needing 6-7 parent-chaperones along with the 4-5 Wamogo staff members that will attend. All chaperones need to be on the RSD6 Tier 1 Volunteer & Chaperone approved list. The details are: Senior Class Retreat Wednesday, October 16, 2019 7:25 am - 2:30 pm UrbanAir Adventure Park in Orange, CT As of today, 78 of 109 Seniors have paid their class dues ($100). First and foremost, class dues cover the caps & gown rental fees for graduation. In addition, dues money is typically used toward a class gift to the school at the end of the year. Beyond that, class dues are used to offset the expenses for each individual student toward the activities that are specific to the members of the Senior class during the 19-20 school year; Retreat, Picnic, and hopefully the Prom.
Seniors that have not met their obligation of paying their class dues may not submit paperwork for a parking space ($60; processed beginning 8/23) nor will they have senior privileges if they are otherwise academically eligible. I have a meeting at Wamogo on Wednesday, August 13th. I will check my Wamogo mailbox for class dues (checks only/please do not send cash) that have been mailed or delivered to Wamogo. If anyone would like to pay their dues with cash, please email me to make arrangements so that I can provide you a receipt for cash received. There are currently 110 students enrolled in Wamogo's class of 2020. Of those, 41 have paid their SENIOR class dues ($100) in full, 1 has paid their JUNIOR class dues ($75), and no one else has paid toward their class dues. Each student that submitted monies toward their class dues received an email confirming receipt.
It is important to remember that in order to submit the necessary paperwork to obtain a parking permit/space on Wamogo's campus for the 2019-2020 school year, class dues must be satisfied. Class dues will be accepted by Ms. Christopher in room 306 for the remainder of this school week and on Monday, June 17th. Checks for class dues should be made payable to "WAMOGO". Students paying with cash must wait for a receipt. During the summer months, there is no set schedule for teachers and therefore, collection of class dues is much more complicated and may not be handled in a timely manner. |
